This pair of two abstract paintings represents the illusional boundary between reality and dreams. The unique hues of red and blue also appear to resemble a fantastical scene of the seasonal transition from winter to spring. It's as if melting snow water transforms into blooming flowers. This painting gives viewers a mysterious worldview, evoking a sense of lingering between two different realms.

About Artist
Yuki Goto is a Japanese contemporary artist who specializes in the traditional Japanese technique Yakihaku. Yakihaku is the art of applying silver leaf onto Japanese paper and then discoloring the silver leaf through sulfidation. Traditionally, it has been used for Japanese painting, textiles, and wall coverings. What sets her art apart is her adept fusion of Japanese painting elements with oil painting techniques.
From her earliest years, Goto was exposed to the narrative richness of Japanese Folk Tales, which laid the foundation for the cultivation of Japanese religious perspectives and worldviews. Concurrently, her kindergarten through high school academic journey led her through the corridors of a Christian educational environment, where she honed her skills in oil painting alongside the assimilation of Western religious and cultural paradigms.
Today, her artistic endeavors converge in compositions that merge oil painting techniques with traditional Japanese painting methods. This fusion represents a deliberate synthesis of her dual cultural influences, aimed at enriching the artistic landscape and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
